Capturing a special moment in a photograph involves many things - but above all it is about LIGHT. The way the light touches the landscape, it can create deep shadows and beautiful warm highlights. Light creates mood, depth, clarity and defines every single photograph. For me this is especially true when photographing nature and landscapes.
This photograph was taken at the Twelve Apostles in Victoria, Australia. The sun was beginning to set and the rock formations began to deepen in colour and darkness while a stormy sky provided an ethereal backdrop.
Regardless of where you are, the time of day and what you are photographing - always always think about the light. It gives our images a soul.
